This course introduces general concepts of descriptive and inferential statistics. It covers basic probability
theory, including its application to random variables. It is designed to acquaint the student with the fundamental
theoretical background and the basic concepts required for mastery of subsequent topics that require use of
statistics and statistical methods. The course is designed for students with little or no previous background in
statistics and will introduce the basic elements of statistical analysis that managers must be familiar with in
order to make and understand decisions that are based on data.

Note that the Flash versions of the lectures are much smaller but do not always play when viewed with Internet
Explorer on Windows Vista. They work fine with Firefox on Vista and Firefox/IE on XP. Alternatively, you can
view the AVI files which play with any media player. They do take longer to download, though. The latest
tutorials are WMV files which are much smaller and should play in the browser and through any media player.
